The Secretary General of the United Nations Tourism Organization is looking with a general manager "Wiko" Future cooperation opportunities

Geneva, July 10/WAM/His Excellency Sheikha Nasser Al -Nuwais, the Secretary -General of the United Nations Tourism Organization for the period from 2026 to 2029, held a bilateral meeting with Darren Tang, Director General The economy of sustainable tourism, and discussing possible integration aspects, in a way that contributes to the development of joint policies, programs and initiatives during the next stage.
His Excellency Sheikha Al -Nuwais emphasized during the meeting that the unfinished cultural origins, such as music, heritage products, and creative publishing rights, are a major axis within its vision to develop responsible tourism, noting that cultural tourism needs an integrated system of legal and commercial protection that preserves the rights of creators, and enhances the quality of tourism experience around the world. She stressed the importance of cooperation with “WIPO” in building the capabilities of member states in governance of cultural content within tourism activities, and developing legal frameworks and operational models related to the management of events and cultural sites, in a manner that guarantees fair protection of rights and enhances the economic and tourism value of heritage.
The two sides discussed aspects of cooperation to develop initiatives related to creative and cultural tourism, with a focus on integrating intellectual property tools, enhancing awareness of creators’ rights in tourism policies for member states, and providing technical support to government and private tourism agencies.
This meeting comes within a series of bilateral meetings held by His Excellency Sheikha Al -Nuwais with a number of countries and international organizations, with the aim of building future and sustainable partnerships to develop global tourism.
