“No to violence against women” .. Yousra leads a cinematic cry this summer

At a time when some women’s issues are still shy on the screens, the star comes to break silence, through her starring her new movie, which bears the name “The Six of Lama”, which began filming recently in Cairo, and is considered one of the most expected works this year, because of its explicit and bold presentation of systematic violence issues against women, and the dismantling of the social system that reproduces this violence in different images.

A social story that does not keep:

The film is written by Kiro Ayman and Mustafa Badawi, and directed by Khaled Abu Ghraib, a humanitarian work that stands at a crossroads between art and confrontation, and does not search for cosmetology or mitigation, but rather highlights the reality with all its contradictions, pain and silence.

Yousra, who has always been a conscious artistic female voice, returns in the “six” with a personality that mimics hundreds of women who suffer injustice in silence, embodies an influential media figure in her forties, characterized by a strict and rational personality that leads the feminist struggle, and believes in the ability of women to bring about change. However, she hides a deep psychological shock, which has a clear impact on her relationship with men. She is a figure that carries the weights of the past and the present, but she does not give up her right to justice, and she finally decided to “say no” in the face of male authority, whether within the family or society.

A plot in which the fate of women is intertwined:

The scenario offers a complex dramatic building, as the story does not revolve around one character, but rather a group of influential women’s tales, all of which meet at one wall (violence).

Wafa (Yasmine Rais): A free young woman, a prestigious university graduate, is exposed to a violent harassment within a taxi, which enters her in a cycle of pain and anxiety, and the film raises real questions about the meaning of safety in public spaces.

Fatima (Dora): A thirty woman grew up in an orphan house, carrying the dream of motherhood inside her since childhood, but he turns into a nightmare after her marriage to a cruel selfish man, who plays the role of Mohamed Gomaa, who embodies a character on which he practices emotional domination daily, without feeling guilty.

Mona (Rania Mansour): A woman seems to be outwardly stable in her marriage to Mahmoud Al -Bazawi, but she is surprised by the exposure of secrets that turn her life upside down, which drives her to redefine herself again.

Black Comedy:

The role of the duo, Intisar and Amr Abdel Jalil; To appreciate a kind of black comedy, where they play the role of a couple on the verge of collapse, but they deal with reality with a kind of black irony, which reduces the weight of other scenes.

Yousra: The closest role of reality:

In previous statements, Yousra described this role as “one of the most challenging acting experiences”, stressing that she feels that the character resembles many women in her realistic environment, and added: “This film does not give its heroines ready solutions, but rather forcing them to ask the questions that we are afraid of asking.”

Art .. a confrontation arena:

“The Six” raises an important question: Is cinema still able to play its role in raising major societal issues? .. It seems that the team based on this work is betting on that, based on a realistic plot, and a directing that tends to simplicity in the image, and the abundance of meaning.

And to directing, as it depends on the modern realistic school, where the camera reflects the details of daily life, and the viewer is presented with a deliberate spontaneity, which makes the viewer feel as though he was a real life, not just acting.

The film includes a bright list of stars, including: Yousra, Majid Al -Masry, Yasmine Rais, Durrat, Muhammad Jumaa, Amr Abdel Jalil, Intisar, Mahmoud Al -Bazawi, Rania Mansour and Mohamed Anwar. In addition to the guests of honor: Hamdi Al -Mirghani and Ahmed Siyam, in two short floors, and influential.
