As of July 15 .. Lebanon reopens the Jeita cave in front of visitors

The Lebanese Ministry of Tourism and the Municipality of Jeita announced the reopening of the Jeita cave in front of visitors as of July 15, in the framework of the resumption of tourism activity in this unique natural landmark.
According to a joint statement, quoting the National Information Agency, Jeita municipality began carrying out comprehensive maintenance work for the cave and its facilities, including equipping the cable car, in preparation for receiving visitors during the summer season.
The official opening ceremony is scheduled for July 21, under the auspices of Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun, represented by the Minister of Tourism, Laura Al -Khazen Lahoud, in confirmation of the status of the cave as a natural treasure and a prominent national teacher.
The Jeita Cave is located in the Valley of the River Al -Kalb – Keserwan District, about 20 km north of Beirut, and is one of the most prominent natural landmarks in Lebanon, as it consists of two upper and luxurious caves.
The cave is known as the “Lebanese Tourism Jewel”, and it was previously nominated to represent Lebanon on the list of the new natural worlds, because of its unique geological nature and exceptional environmental and tourism value.
