“Dubai Roads” carries out 1059 searches on orders delivery bikes

In the context of its efforts to enhance public safety, and ensure the commitment of companies to the regulations and legislations approved in the Emirate of Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority, in cooperation with the General Command of Dubai Police and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and the Dubai Municipality and the Dubai Health Authority, carried out 1059 comprehensive inspection operations targeting the delivery bikes operating in the emirate, during which a number of violations were liberated.

This campaign comes within the ongoing efforts to ensure adherence to the required controls and standards in the application delivery sector, for its effective contribution to promoting traffic safety and improving the quality of the services provided.

The campaign included a number of high -density vital areas, most notably the downtown area, Jumeirah, and Mottar City.

Ahmed Mahboub, Executive Director of the Licensing Corporation of the Roads and Transport Authority said: The campaigns included the liberation of several violations, most notably: lack of commitment to public safety requirements while driving such as wearing protection means, bike leadership without obtaining a vocational training certificate issued by the Licensing Corporation, leadership with indiscretion and recklessness, which poses a threat to road users, and 19 bikes violating the legislation in force in the delivery sector were seized.

Mahboub added: “The authority distributed quick response symbols (QR Code) to the drivers of delivery, including awareness -raising videos that explain the requirements for practicing activity and the requirements of safe leadership, stressing the importance of the role of institutions in adhering to all the requirements that the concerned authorities set, and commitment to laws to ensure a safe and effective work environment.”

Mahboub stressed the commission’s continued implementation of the joint inspection and awareness campaigns, in line with its vision of (global leadership in easy and sustainable movement), in addition to issuing circulars and organizational instructions in cooperation with strategic partners, and to achieve a safe and sustainable operational environment that benefits all members of society.
