Talks between the United States and Iran are continuing

US President Donald Trump confirmed the continuation of active diplomatic channels between Washington and Tehran, refuting reports of a breakdown in communication between the two sides, and at the same time sending a firm message to the Iranian leadership of the necessity of changing its political approach.

Trump stated, “The talks between the United States and Iran are continuing,” describing the circulating reports to the contrary as baseless. He added, “The news reports that claim that communication between Iran and America stopped a few days ago are false and misleading reports.”

Regarding the future of these negotiations and its conditions for reaching a solution, the US President revealed the content of the messages addressed to Tehran, saying: “I told Iran that the time has come, one way or another, for you to conclude an agreement.” He continued, adding: “No one knows where the talks will lead, but as I said to Iran, the time has come sooner or later to reach an agreement.”

Trump concluded his statements by stressing the need for a radical change in Iranian policy, stressing: “I told the Iranians that they must abandon the approach they have followed for more than 47 years.”
