The conclusion of ADNOC Sports Championship 2025
Abu Dhabi, July 17 / WAM / The 2025 ADNOC Sports Championship, organized by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company “ADNOC”, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center “ADNEC”, with the participation of more than 2000 contestants from ADNOC employees and their families and partners, amid a wide societal interaction.
The championship, which spanned three weeks under the slogan “Energy for Life”, was held in a number of sports facilities in Abu Dhabi, which included the ADNEC Center within the activities of Abu Dhabi Sports Summer, Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy for Women’s Sports, and the International Sports Resort, as it witnessed the organization of more than 10 collective and individual sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, handball, Jojitsu, chess, pair, and shooting, as well as volleyball for women, with competitions for different age groups.
This year’s version witnessed the inclusion of heritage sports events, most notably camel races, hawks and replete, in the context of “ADNOC” keenness to enhance the national identity and highlight the authentic cultural heritage, and consolidate the values of pride and belonging between its cadres and members of society.
The closing ceremony of the championship was attended by Sheikh Zayed bin Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and CEO of Adenuk and its companies group, His Excellency Dr. Sultan Al -Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, His Excellency Hamid Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and CEO of ADNEC and the group of companies affiliated to it Talal Al -Hashemi, Executive Director of the Events Sector in the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and a number of senior officials in ADNOC and the former UAE national team players.
His Excellency Talal Al -Hashemi stressed that the tournament represents a model for institutional integration in promoting community sport and supporting health and social cohesion, in line with the goals of “the year of society 2025”, praising the role of “ADNOC” in organizing a qualitative effectiveness of this size.
It is noteworthy that the ADNOC Sports Championship was launched in 1994, as part of the company’s efforts to employ sports as a way to build a healthy and coherent community, which supports the national identity and enhances the feeling of belonging.
