Emirati Business Forum – Tajiki discusses economic partnerships

The Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, headed a delegation from the UAE to participate in the “Emirati -Tajikistan Business Forum”, which was hosted by the Tajik capital, Doshnbeh, with the aim of strengthening economic partnerships at the level of the governmental and private sectors, and exploring promising opportunities in priority sectors.
In the context of the visit, Al -Marri held a series of bilateral meetings with a number of senior Tajiki officials, led by the Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Qahir Rasoul Zadeh, where ways to enhance partnership paths in the priority sectors, especially the new economy, renewable energy, infrastructure, and advanced technology.
The ministers also met: industry and new technologies, financial, economic development and trade, where meetings dealt with ways to enhance the business environment, discuss potential cooperation projects in the areas of sustainable financing, and expand the horizons of partnership with the private sector in new economic projects and free economic areas.
He also met the Minister of Economy and Tourism, Director of the Civil Aviation Agency in Tajikistan; Habibullah Taymour was provided with, where the meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of aviation and tourism, including the expansion of services and the increase in linking between the two countries, by developing the partnership in the areas of air safety, expanding tracks, and promoting tourist destinations.
In his opening speech to the forum, Al -Marri stressed: “We look at Tajikistan as an important economic partner and a promising market in the Central Asian region, where it is characterized by rich investment opportunities in the infrastructure, energy, water, agriculture and tourism sectors, and they are keen to extend bridges of cooperation between the Tajik and Emirati business community, and to create a supportive environment for investors and businessmen to establish mutual projects that achieve mutual projects An economic value added to the two parties. ”
Al -Marri reviewed the most prominent ingredients and opportunities offered by the business environment in the UAE, and he also called on partners in the government and the private sector in the Republic of Tajikistan to participate and attend the activities of the “Intensopia 2026 Summit”, which represents a global platform that brings together decision makers, investors and entrepreneurs from different countries, to discuss future investment opportunities in the new economy sectors.
The forum witnessed the signing of a bilateral cooperation agreement between the General Authority of Civil Aviation and the Civil Aviation Agency in Tajikistan, in addition to the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the UAE company “Pressight Ai” and the Tajik “Smart City” company.
It is noteworthy that economic relations between the UAE and Tajikistan are witnessing tangible and continuous growth, as the value of non -oil trade between the two countries increased by more than 33% during the year 2024 to reach about 360 million dollars.
The UAE is also the second largest in the world in Tajikistan, with a total investment of about one billion dollars during the period from 2020 to 2024.
