“Barcode” national identity … an initiative to enhance youth’s association with heritage

The social business leader, Sheikha Al -Jabri, designed the societal “Bar Code Code” initiative to enhance the link of Emirati youth with their national identity, and to introduce residents and visitors to the state’s history, cultural values and heritage, and its idea was chosen within the ideas that won the third session of the “Weak” initiative to dismantle societal challenges.

Al -Jabri indicated, during the explanation of her idea, that the aim of the initiative is to strengthen the participation of youth in learning the Emirati culture and pioneers through the use of the barcode symbols, which will be placed in the places such as cinemas, youth centers, universities and commercial centers, noting that wiping the symbol through the mobile phone camera directs the user to an interactive platform or a site that highlights the Emirati culture and heritage, And translations to introduce the most important Emirati scientific, cultural and political figures, and the most prominent historical stations in the state’s march.

She stressed the importance of using technology to enhance the national identity of young people and introduce the culture and heritage of the state, pointing out that the images and information appear in both Arabic and English when “scanning” the symbol with the phone camera.

Al -Jabri stressed the importance of the initiative in increasing the definition of Emirati culture and personalities with the social, economic, political, sports and artistic impact in the history of the Emirates, and promoting the honorable models so that young people take an example for them.
