“The General Chess” adopts the electoral lists system in the new session

The extraordinary general assembly of the Emirates Chess Federation approved the articles of association of the Federation, which is compatible with the Sports Law during the meeting held at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee and attended by representatives of 16 out of 17 members of the General Assembly of the Federation to complete the quorum of the meeting.

The meeting also adopted the electoral lists system in the new session 2025-2028, and where the list will include 7 members, including a women’s member, the election and appeals committees were formed, provided that the election committee sets the date and the stages of opening the door for candidacy and checking the candidates and announcing the deadline for the elections, and the meeting agreed to allow the membership of 30% of residents of the Board of Directors.


The meeting was attended by Tarim Matar Tarim, President of the Federation, Nasser Abdullah bin Amer, Assistant Secretary -General of the Federation, Omar Khalaf, representative of the Ministry of Sports, Mohamed Abdullah, the coach of the federation, and representatives of the operating clubs.

The extraordinary general assembly meeting was preceded by the regular general assembly meeting with the same representatives of the clubs, where the minutes of the previous meeting were approved, and technical, administrative and financial reports, external auditing and activity plan for 2025 were approved.

The meeting agreed to join the clubs of Dibba Al -Fujairah and Mafi as a member of the federation, and the withdrawal of Al -Madam Club was approved from the membership of the Federation, and the meeting was approved, provided that the clubs participated in the activity to continue the working membership with a minimum of 15 players in all activities and in the event of non -compliance over the course of two consecutive seasons, the working membership is transferred to a sporting membership by the decision of the Board of Directors and approved by the General Assembly of the Federation to pass.

The meeting touched on the clubs of determination and follow -up of these clubs in providing all their needs, and setting their laws and legislations.

The members of the General Assembly of the Federation praised the school chess project and the efforts made by Tarim Tarim, the president of the Federation, to spread the game in schools and make courses for teachers and qualify them to be trained to discover talents.
