The international dry ponds in the port of Rashid were opened in 1979 by Banni, the renaissance of Dubai, the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, may God bless him, and the global dry basins had a pioneering role in the development of the United Arab Emirates as a global sea and industrial center.
For more than four decades, the global dry basins have fixed a number of the largest oil tankers in the world, and developed a floating upper infrastructure.
The new lever is not just a machine, but rather a symbol of the ambition of Dubai, its flexibility and its engineering distinction, and an exceptional declaration that we build, and we invite citizens and residents to contribute to giving this symbol a name that reflects our common values, heritage and our vision for the future.

The competition is open to all citizens and residents, as it calls DP and the participants to propose an attractive name in joint cultural connotations, symbolizing strength, marine heritage, innovation and the future of the United Arab Emirates.
Participants must include proposed names in Arabic or English, with a brief explanation of their meaning and source of inspiration.
