Abdul Latif Al -Fardan, President of the Basketball Federation, by acclamation
Dubai, July 22 / WAM / The Electoral Committee of the Emirates Basketball Association, headed by Counselor Badr Al Hammadi, approved His Excellency Abdul Latif Nasser Al -Fardan headed by the Federation for the new session 2024 – 2028 by acclamation, after closing the door for objections and no other candidate for this position.
This came during the committee’s meeting today after the end of the period of submitting objections to the candidacy for the presidency, where the committee confirmed that it had received only one nomination of Al -Fardan, the representative of the Sharjah Club, and therefore no subsequent objections to this candidacy were seen, and the decision was circulated to the club’s clubs in the country.
Abdul Latif Al -Fardan is the sixth president in the history of the federation since its foundation in 1976, and has a long experience in sports administrative work, where he held several positions within the federation since 2008, including an assistant secretary, then vice president for three consecutive sessions.
The committee announced the opening of the candidacy for the membership of the Federation’s Board of Directors as of today, provided that the application will continue until the first of next August, while it was decided to hold the general elections on August 24.
