Clashes and missile shelling on the Thai border

The Thai boundaries witnessed a military escalation this morning, as armed clashes erupted that developed into a missile shelling, after which Cambodia was accused of targeting civilians on its soil.
The Thai army announced that the Cambodian forces launched a specific attack on civilians, explaining that two “BM-21” missiles landed in Surin Governorate, wounding three civilians.
The two parties exchanged accusations about the start of the shooting, while the Cambodian Ministry of Defense confirmed that its forces exercised its legitimate right to self -defense, to repel a Thai incursion, the Thai army stated that the fighting began after the monitoring of a drone and the approach of Kambodian soldiers to the border fence.
This military tension comes one day after Thailand was expelled to the Cambodian Ambassador, in response to a Thai soldier in a landmine explosion.
