"Muslim sages" He welcomes France to declare its intention to recognize the State of Palestine
Abu Dhabi, July 26 / WAM / The Council of Muslim Elderly, headed by His Eminence the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, welcomed the announcement of French President Emmanuel Macron, his country’s determination to recognize the State of Palestine.
In a statement issued today, the Council expressed its appreciation for this decision, which would contribute to strengthening international efforts to find a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, and support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is the establishment of their independent state and its capital, Al -Quds Al -Sharif, and the implementation of international decisions in this regard.
The Council of Muslim Elders reiterated its call to the international community to assume its responsibilities and work immediately and urgently in order to stop the aggression on the Gaza Strip and allow the entry of humanitarian and relief aid without obstacle, stressing its support for all Arab and international efforts aimed at ending the suffering of the Palestinian people for more than 7 decades in a way that contributes to promoting peace and stability in the region and the world.
