Does America extend the deadline for applying customs duties? .. The Minister of Commerce decides it

US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lootnik confirmed on Sunday that the deadline set by the United States on August 1 to impose a strict on its trading partners is final and will not be extended.
“There are no extensions and no periods of grace. Customs duties are specific on the first of August. It will be applied. Customs will start collecting money,” Lootnick told Fox News.
But he pointed out that the president, who is negotiating on Sunday in Scotland with European Union officials, will remain open to the dialogue even after entering the fees within the application.

“As you know, they hope to reach an agreement, and this is due to President Trump, who leads these negotiations,” Lottenic said in reference to the Europeans.
Five countries have so far made agreements with the Trump administration prior to Friday at a time when Washington is seeking to make changes in the global system that is largely on free trade by imposing customs duties on countries that are considered to be involved in unfair commercial practices.
These five countries are Britain, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and Japan, knowing that they all accepted a higher fee of 10 percent of the 10 percent that the United States has imposed on most countries since April.
However, it is less than the proportions that the Trump administration threatened to impose unless an agreement was reached.
