The work environment in the Dubai government embraces creative competencies

The Human Resources Department of the Dubai Government, Dr. Muhammad Suhail Al -Muhairi, one of the employees of the government agencies in the emirate and the owner of the proposal “Summer Working Hours”, in appreciation of his qualitative idea that contributed to developing the work environment and enhancing the welfare of employees during the summer period, in a move that reflects the department’s commitment to stimulate the culture of participation and innovation at the government level.
This honor comes as an embodiment of the relevant efforts led by the department in order to support individual initiatives and entrepreneurial ideas, which start from the government field and aim to develop the government sector and improve performance indicators and service among employees, in line with the directions of the Dubai government in building a flexible work environment.
The Director General of the Human Resources Department of the Dubai Government, Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al -Falasi, said that the work environment in the Dubai government embraces creative human competencies, stressing the advanced strategy adopted by the Human Resources Department to invest in human capital, by supporting these talents, and stimulating their participation in the formulation of institutional policies that create teams, and prompt sustainable development wheel in the government work system.
He added: «The Dubai government, with its bodies and institutions, was keen to establish a flexible work environment, allowing human cadres to progress, welcomes the qualitative visions and ideas that turn into government success stories that make a tangible difference in the lives of employees and society, and contribute to drawing the features of the future sector in the country. We believe, in the Human Resources Department, that this qualitative step is not only a tribute to an idea, but also a confirmation of our fixed commitment to consolidating the culture of institutional innovation and turning individual initiatives into practical solutions, which contribute to achieving Dubai’s vision of a more flexible and prosperous future.
He pointed out that the department intentionally adopted this innovative proposal and converting it into a new governmental procedure, through the “Flexible Summer” initiative, which was launched during the year 2024, in coordination with a number of participating government agencies, in response to the needs of employees during the summer, and this initiative witnessed a experimental stage during which the department put a clear application mechanism, and was keen to follow the process of developing and implementing it and evaluating its impact and its impacts on each Practical and operational aspects that make up the work environment and affect the status of employees.
The evaluation, which was conducted by the department during the experimental application stage, indicated that this initiative resulted in tangible positive results, which was observed on the main performance indicators, whether in terms of productivity, customer service or employee happiness, as it affected 87% in the performance of employees in the completion of tasks within the specified time, and recorded a sense of 96% in the service of customers without receiving any complaints, as it contributed to the high rate Happiness and enthusiasm to work for employees by about 98%.
