Abdullah bin Zayed welcomes the UK declaring its intention to recognize the State of Palestine
Abu Dhabi, July 30/ WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed the announcement of His Excellency the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, the determination of his country’s government to recognize the sisterly state of Palestine during the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly next September, and considered that this step strengthens the efforts of the international community to achieve a two -state solution, and establish a fair and permanent peace in the region.
His Highness expressed the UAE’s appreciation for this important decision, which comes in a joint moment that requires the international community to assume its responsibilities, work collectively to activate the political path, and end the Palestinian -Israeli conflict, in a way that contributes to enhancing security and stability in the region, and at the same time support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is the establishment of its sovereign independent state, in accordance with the United Nations resolutions and relevant international agreements.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed also renewed the UAE’s firm commitment to support the aspirations of the Palestinian people, safeguard their rights, and continue to work with regional and international partners to achieve a just and sustainable solution that ends the conflict, and is paved to build a more stable and prosperous future for all the peoples of the region.
