"Abu Dhabi Arabic Language" : 830 nomination in the fourth session of the award "Treasure generation"

Abu Dhabi, July 31/ WAM/ The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center received 830 requests for candidacy for the fourth session of the “Treasure of Generation Award”, while he announced the closure of the nomination door in the prize that he launched to honor the Nabati poetic works, folkloric studies, and research that deals with the inheritance related to Nabati poetry and its authentic values, as part of its vision aimed at preserving the informal heritage, and enhancing its knowledge and creative presence.
The award received 830 posts distributed to its six branches, from 35 countries, including 19 Arab countries, registered a growth of 38% compared to the third session that attracted 601 nominations, which reflects the growing confidence in the award and its advanced position on the map of specialized literary awards, and the attendance of the Emirati culture in the Nabati poetry space in the Arab and global poetry.
The Arab Republic of Egypt topped the list of participating countries with 293 nominations, followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with 90 posts, then the Sultanate of Oman with 82, while the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan recorded 64 posts each, in a clear indication of the award in the Gulf and Arab cultural scene.
The current session witnessed nominations from more than 16 foreign countries, including countries participating for the first time such as: Colombia, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Ecuador, Germany, Serbia, Sweden, Nigeria and Ukraine in an indication of its international expansion, and its success in extending bridges of cultural exchange through the Nabati Poetry Gate and the arts associated with it.
The reading and screening committee held its first meeting after the closure of the nomination door, headed by the journalist and writer Ali Obaid Al -Hamli, Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Award, and the membership of Dr. Ali Al -Kaabi, Academic Adviser, and the poet Obaid bin Qadlan Al Mazrouei, and the writer and researcher Muhammad Abu Zaid.
The meeting discussed evaluation criteria and business selection mechanisms, ensuring the highest levels of transparency and accuracy, and adhering to literary and artistic quality standards in advanced nominations.
Ali Obaid Al -Hamli, Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Award, said that the fourth session of the award formed a milestone in its career, in terms of the number of posts and its geographical and spacious diversity, which reflects the extent of the expansion that the award has been achieving as a global cultural platform to celebrate Nabati poetry and revitalize it in the conscience of new generations.
He stressed that what we have touched this year from creative momentum and multiple voices reflects the size of the emotional link, and the intellectual that Arab societies still relax with this ancient art, which indicates that Nabati poetry still maintains its position as one of the tributaries of cultural identity, and expressive art that goes beyond the limits of language to the depth of collective conscience.
He added that the successive successes achieved by the award comes as a translation of the UAE’s vision in preserving the infinite cultural heritage, and enhancing its presence in the contemporary present in a way that combines poetic aesthetic and the human dimension, the award proceeds steadily towards consolidating authentic poetic creativity, and opening new windows in front of young people to interact with this artistic heritage, through a pulpit that values talent, honors excellence, and celebrates the future From authentic roots.
The “Poetic Magic” branch recorded the highest percentage of nominations for the second year in a row, with 465 posts, which represents more than 56% of the total participants, followed by the “Arts” branch with 281 posts, then the “Poetic versions” branch with 26, so the “translation” with 11 nominations, then the “Studies and Research” branch with 10 nominations, while the “Creative Personality” branch witnessed a remarkable growth, as The number of nominations increased to 37, compared to only 10 nominations in the previous session, in an indication of the growing awareness of the importance of honoring the people influencing the cultural movement.
The fourth session also recorded a remarkable women’s presence of 263 posts, compared to 131 women’s participation in the last session, which reflects the growth of women’s involvement in the cultural scene associated with Nabati poetry and its fields, in addition to receiving the award from cultural institutions and publishing houses, in a way that enhances the award partnerships with the academic and societal authorities concerned.
It is scheduled that the business evaluation phase will be launched by the jury specialized in the six prize branches.
The “Treasure of the Generation Prize”, which is inspired by its title from one of the poems of the late founder Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul”, continues to perform its role as a leading platform that celebrates Nabati creativity, and seeks to preserve the Emirati and Arab poetic heritage, and consolidate its aesthetic and human values in the new generations, by honoring the creators who contribute to preserving this heritage and transferring it to the future, where the numbers indicate Registered in this session to the expansion of the award of the award, and the consolidation of its presence on the cultural scene regionally and internationally, to establish its presence as a tributary to discover talents, and a platform to enhance the continuity of Nabati poetry in the memory of the nation.
