Emirates .. Artificial Intelligence is the companion of science students from kindergarten to doctorate

Abu Dhabi, August 2 / WAM / The use and exploitation of the outputs of artificial intelligence in the education sector is one of the most prominent strategic priorities of the UAE, which during a record time succeeded in making the “AI” a key companion in the student’s educational journey, from school to university.

Higher education institutions are abundant today with more than 44 study programs linked to artificial intelligence, according to the Book of Artificial Intelligence, digital economy and remote work applications, and in this context, the experience of Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, which has succeeded since its foundation in October 2019 to establish its position as a leading global destination in the field of university education and research of artificial intelligence.

Today is one of the 10 best universities in the world in artificial intelligence specialties, computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing, robotics, and computer biology, according to the classification of universities in the fields of computer science.

Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence currently offers 13 programs in the master’s and doctorate levels, covering multiple fields that include computer vision, robotics, statistics and data science, natural language processing, and computer biology, along with a Bachelor’s program launched in 2025 with academic pathways, “business” and “engineering”.

The university embraces students from 39 countries, the Emiratis, of whom are about 17%, while the percentage of female students is 31%, and more than 300 male and female students graduated from high degrees, 80%of whom joined the system of artificial intelligence in the country.

In the context of supporting innovation, the university launched the Mohammed bin Zayed Center for Business and Entrepreneurship in 2023, to support the establishment of emerging companies in the areas of artificial intelligence, and one of the most prominent university centers is the Institute of Constituent Models, which works to design new new specialized linguistic models, and his entrepreneurial projects included the large linguistic linguistic model that depends on 65 billion paremters and its entire university developer, and the “Gess” model model. The most downloaded to the Arabic language, the integral intelligence center and the metaphors center established, and the university contributed to publishing more than 1,200 research papers in prestigious conferences, and 2200 papers in specialized scientific journals, which strengthened its global classification.

Several UAE universities also took accelerating steps to enhance the presence of artificial intelligence in its academic programs, including the Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, which offers a Bachelor of Mathematics with a specialization in data science for artificial intelligence, and the University of Abu Dhabi, which provides a science in artificial intelligence, and Khalifa University of Science and Technology that gives a bachelor’s degree in robots and artificial intelligence, in addition to the intelligence center Artificial at the American University of Sharjah, as well as the Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence at Ajman University.

In a qualitative shift for general education, the next academic year 2025-2026 witnesses the inclusion of artificial intelligence within the curricula of government schools, starting from the kindergarten stage to the twelfth grade, with the aim of preparing generations that are able to tools of the future.

With this step, the UAE becomes one of the first countries in the world to include artificial intelligence as a study subject within the curricula of school education, with the aim of providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the principles of artificial intelligence and its applications in daily life.

The UAE curriculum covers 7 major areas that include basic concepts, data and algorithms, software use, moral awareness, realistic applications, innovation and project design, as well as policies and societal connection.

In the light of these integrated initiatives, the UAE continues to consolidate its global position as a leading country in harnessing artificial intelligence to serve education, making a conscious and qualified generation with future knowledge, and is able to foresee tomorrow and its industry.
