133.3 billion dollars in China’s major internet companies in the first half
BEIJING, August 4/ WAM/ official data issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in China showed that the Internet and relevant services sector has maintained steady growth in revenue during the first half of 2025, according to the new China News Agency “Xinhua”.
According to the data, the major Chinese companies operating in this field recorded total revenues of 961.3 billion yuan “about 133.3 billion US dollars”, during the first six months of this year, an increase of 3.1 % on an annual basis, which represents an acceleration in the pace of growth by 2.2 degrees Celsius compared to the period from January to May.
While, the total profits of these companies reached 74.32 billion yuan, a decrease of 8.3 % compared to the same period last year.
The sector also continued to pump stable investments in research and development, as the expenditures allocated to this field amounted to 48.56 billion yuan during the first half of this year, an annual increase of 2.6 %.
The major Chinese companies operating in the field of the Internet and relevant services refer to companies whose annual revenues are not less than the main business of each of them in this sector than 20 million yuan.
