Mansour bin Zayed visits the National Meteorological Center and looks at his most prominent projects and advanced technologies

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister, President of the Presidency Bureau, made an inspection visit to the headquarters of the National Meteorological Center, where he was received by Dr. Abdullah Al -Mandous, Director General of the Center and Head of the World Meteorological Organization, along with a number of senior officials.
During the visit, His Highness was briefed on the developed infrastructure of the center and modern meteorological techniques, where he made a tour that included the operations center, air predictions, rainy system, maritime monitoring, and air forecasts specialized in renewable energy, and he also briefed His Highness the latest developments in joint international research for the southern pole, and listened to a detailed explanation about the numerical models system for predictions Air, which relies on a high -speed computer is among the latest in the region, and is used to analyze climatic data in a way that contributes to enhancing the accuracy of expectations and raising the level of early readiness.
His Highness inspected the Media Affairs Unit at the Center, where he met a group of applications and digital platforms that the center develops to serve the local and international community. These services include direct notifications systems during weather conditions, interactive maps, and smart applications that provide immediate information about weather conditions for various groups of society, in order to enhance the culture of pre -emptive and readiness.
His Highness briefed on the platform “Early Warning for All”, which the center developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which provides accurate and immediate alerts for state citizens abroad regarding emergency weather conditions, in a manner that guarantees their safety and enhances national and international coordination in climatic risk management.
His Highness also visited the center’s scientific dome, which is considered an advanced educational platform aimed at spreading environmental and climate awareness among school and university students, and the general public. His Highness reviewed the interactive offers and specialized workshops offered by the dome, contributing to enhancing climate culture and motivating the new generation to pay attention to environmental sciences.
For his part, Dr. Abdullah Al -Mandous expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed for this visit, stressing that the support of the leadership is a major motivation in the center’s march towards more excellence and innovation. He added that this visit embodies the importance of the national role that the center plays in protecting lives and property, and facing climatic challenges with national expertise and qualified scientific competencies.
