"Abu Dhabi Energy" It launches its strategy during the staff forum
Abu Dhabi, August 6/ WAM/ The Energy Department in Abu Dhabi organized the annual staff forum for the year 2025, under the slogan “Our energy is you”, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Hamid Al -Jarwan, President of the Department, and His Excellency Eng.
The organization of the forum comes within the framework of the department’s keenness to enhance internal institutional communication, and appreciate the efforts of its employees who are the cornerstone of the march of achievement and excellence, and the forum was an important platform to highlight the strategy of the energy circle and its impact on the energy, water, central cooling sector and petroleum materials, and review the most prominent initiatives and programs that the department is implementing.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Hamid Al -Jarwan, in his speech during the forum, stressed that the department’s strategy is a firm commitment to building a safe and sustainable sector that meets the aspirations of the future.
He indicated that the strategy is based on four main goals that include securing supplies at reasonable prices, achieving efficiency in supply and demand, reducing carbon emissions, and raising the contribution of the sector to GDP.
His Excellency touched on the smart platform “AD.We”, which the department launched in cooperation with the two pioneering companies, “AIC” and “Prizeet”, explaining that it represents a leading step towards an integrated future for energy management, and a qualitative leap in how to employ artificial intelligence and digital modeling to achieve efficiency and sustainability in various energy sources.
He added that this advanced platform was developed to serve as a unified command center linking the electricity and water sectors, and it is managed by the energy system in the emirate with high efficiency and reliability.
His Excellency said that the employee is the first engine of all the achievements achieved, and what will be achieved in the future, stressing the continuous commitment of the department to build a flexible and developed work system, keeping pace with changes and supports the leading global position of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the energy and water sectors.
For his part, His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Mohamed Al -Rumaithi, Undersecretary of the Department, explained that the new strategy was the result of an expanded cooperation that included more than 20 concerned entities, with the participation of 140 experts representing various sectors, and was based on the visions of ten executives.
He pointed out that the strategy includes ambitious goals, most notably achieving the goals of climate neutrality by 2050, raising the strategic stock of water, enhancing energy efficiency at the level of all sectors, and building national cadres with high digital capabilities and future skills.
For her part, Dr. Shamma Al Malik, Executive Director of the Acting Strategic Planning Sector in the department presented a comprehensive presentation on the department’s strategy, which represents an integrated road map aimed at ensuring the security of supplies, promoting sustainability, and supporting smart transformation in the sector, as well as maximizing the economic and investment value.
It reviewed a number of supportive executive programs, including programs to improve the efficiency of electricity and water consumption, achieve a supply mix that achieves net yellow emissions, promoting sustainable cooling, improving recycled water and promoting preventive safety in the petroleum materials sector.
