“Mud” and landslides are sweeping the village of “Darali” in India

The heavy rains and closed roads hindered the rescue efforts in the Indian state of Uttar Candle, located in the Himalayas region, yesterday, a day after sudden floods and landslides that killed four people and lost dozens.

The media and local authorities said that the army rescue teams and the disaster response forces had difficulty reaching the village of “Darali”, a famous tourist area that represents a stop station before going up to the town of “Joldtry”, a Hindu shrine in the area of Uttar Kashi.

“The number of missing persons is unknown, but relief efforts continued throughout the night, we are trying to save people and transfer them to safety,” said Harschvinhan, a colonel in the Indian army that leads the rescue operations, in a post on the X platform.

The Prime Minister of the state of “Uttar Candle”, Pushkar Singh Dammi, told ANI’s news that about 130 people were rescued, by the evening of yesterday.

TV news channels broadcast clay clips and flood water pushing to the foot of a mountain and sweeping the village, sweeping homes and roads, and people running to survive their lives, and showed a photographer update, published by the office of the head of the state government, showing the clay invasion of the village of “Darli” and the thunder of some houses.
