Emirates Airlines is prohibited to charge mobile devices on board its planes

Emirates Airlines has announced the ban on the use of any type of Power Banks on its flights from October 1, 2025.

The “mobile devices charging” is a rechargeable device, and is used to supply other electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and energy cameras.

Customers are allowed to carry only one shipping unit on the plane, according to specific conditions mentioned below, but it is forbidden to be used inside the plane cabin, whether to charge the devices from them or to charge them using energy sources in the plane.

Customers can carry only one shipping unit with a capacity of 100 watts/hour.

It is not permissible to use mobile devices charging units to charge any personal device on the plane.

The delivery of charging units is prohibited to power sources inside the plane to charge them.

Each shipping unit must include clear information about its electrical capacity.

It is not permissible to place portable charging units in the upper cabinets inside the cabin, and they should be placed in the pocket of the seat or in a bag under the front seat.

It is prohibited to place mobile devices charging units in registered luggage, according to the current procedure.

Why Emirates Airlines make these adjustments?

After a comprehensive review of safety procedures, Emirates Airlines takes a firm and anticipated position to reduce the risks related to the charging units of mobile devices on board.

All mobile devices shipping units are subject to new regulations on Emirates Airlines.
