Sharjah Police confirms its readiness to receive the new academic year

Sharjah, on August 10 / WAM / The General Command of Sharjah Police confirmed its full readiness to receive the new academic year 2025-2026, as part of its preparations for the launch of the “First Safety Lessons” campaign, which aims to enhance traffic and security safety in the vicinity of schools, in cooperation with the partners from the relevant authorities.

This came during a coordination meeting headed by the General Command of Sharjah Police, in the presence of representatives of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, the Security Media Department, the Operations Center Department, and the Department of Community Protection and Protection, where the mechanisms for implementing the campaign that coincide with the beginning of the school year were reviewed, and the unification of efforts to ensure a safe and comprehensive start for students.

Colonel Mohamed Al Shamsi, Director of the Operations Center Department, confirmed the launch of a mobile operations room through which the traffic situation is broadcast directly around schools during peak times, which enhances the efficiency of the immediate response, and contributes to reducing congestion, indicating the activation of the “safe” platform in cooperation with the Sharjah Special Education Authority, which receives emergency reports related to student affairs, with the possibility of following the movement of school buses accurately.

For his part, Colonel Abdul Rahman Khater, Deputy Director of the Security Information Department, explained that the campaign depends on modern and innovative awareness content, in line with the different age groups of students, through the production of visual and audio materials, and digital designs, in addition to interactive campaigns through the media and digital platforms, in a way that contributes to raising the level of societal awareness of the importance of school safety.

Lt. Col. Omar Al -Aqoubi, Deputy Director of Traffic and Patrols Department, explained that the traffic plan for the academic year depends on the redistribution of periodicals based on the traffic density areas, noting the allocation of 98 traffic patrols distributed between the city of Sharjah, the Eastern Region, and the central region, to secure traffic in the vicinity of schools and vital intersections, stressing the need for school bus drivers to adhere to safety and prevention procedures, to ensure a guarantee Student safety.

In the same context, Major Hussein Al -Balushi, Director of the Community Patrol Branch, pointed to the implementation of field awareness visits implemented by the specialized teams in schools, with the aim of enhancing the concepts of safety and social responsibility between students and educational staff, through interactive subjects and awareness activities.

At the end of the meeting, the General Command of Sharjah Police affirmed that the safety of students is a top priority, calling on all members of society to cooperate and contribute to the success of the “First Safety Lessons” campaign, to ensure a safe and stable start in various schools of the emirate.
