Sessions and workshops to advance storytelling and develop the personal brand of content creators

Dubai, January 11 / WAM / The fourth edition of the One Billion Followers Summit, the largest global summit in the content industry economy, witnessed a series of various sessions and workshops, hosted by Instagram, the social media platform affiliated with Meta, which targeted creative and talented content makers.

The sessions and workshops took place at Instagram House as part of the activities of the fourth edition of the One Billion Followers Summit, the largest global summit in the content industry economy, which was organized by the UAE Government Media Office and hosted by the UAE over a period of 3 days and concluded its work today, in the Emirates Towers, the Dubai International Financial Center, and the Museum of the Future, in Dubai, under the slogan “Purposeful Content.”

The sessions and workshops touched on a variety of important topics, ranging from content strategies and monetization, to employing technology, developing a personal brand, and success stories of elite content makers.

Moon Baz, Director of Global Partnerships for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey at Meta, said that the One Billion Followers Summit represents an affirmation of the amazing impact that content makers have on the global cultural scene. Instagram has always represented a space through which creators transform their passion into a way of life, and our presence in this year’s edition of the summit reflects our commitment to helping content makers keep pace with the growth and development of the platform. Our goal through the Instagram House space is to empower the content maker community by providing the tools they need to grow and thrive on the platform, starting with mastering… The art of telling stories and generating income, all the way to utilizing (Meta Artificial Intelligence) as a creative partner, and by introducing (Meta Artificial Intelligence) as part of this journey, we are providing content makers with a creative companion who is always present and helps simplify the technical side of the content creation process, giving them the opportunity to focus on the most important goal, which is communicating honestly and authentically with their audience.

Bahjat Hindi, Director of Partner Solutions in the Global Partnerships Department at Meta, participated during a workshop entitled “Ten Tips We Wish We Knew Earlier About Instagram,” a set of practical tips that help content creators increase the number of their followers and enhance interaction with their content, in addition to how to create outstanding content.

Content creator Milad Rahhal also shared his own approach to content creation during a workshop entitled “The formula for viral content that we have succeeded in applying,” and he instructed the workshop attendees on how to develop stories that attract the audience and elevate the content they provide.

In a session entitled “Decoding Algorithms,” Joy Ibrahim, a content creator known for her expertise in the field of content strategies and insights related to social platforms, reviewed how Instagram’s algorithms work and the most prominent factors that increase the spread of content.

In a dialogue session entitled “7 Million Followers in One Year: Ahmed Hossam’s Success on Instagram,” content creator Ahmed Hossam explained how he succeeded in building a loyal fan base, developing content that achieved wide spread, and dealing with the challenges of rapid growth. The session was moderated by Samer Gamal, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Meta.

Promoting the growth of the content economy was one of the main areas of focus during the One Billion Followers Summit, and many sessions and workshops touched on this topic with the aim of guiding content creators on their journey to deal with the commercial aspects of their platforms.

In a workshop entitled “How to conclude your first deals with brands?”, content creator Ahmed Dabas, Global Executive Director and Deputy General Manager at Bold Management Company, presented a set of visions and strategies that have proven effective for entering the world of partnerships with brands.

For his part, Rove Manita, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Meta, presented a workshop entitled “How to Make an Income of Up to $10,000 Through Facebook,” where he reviewed the most important tips, strategies, and real-life examples that help content makers increase the number of their followers and achieve new sources of revenue.

Dolly Deeb, the Arabic travel content creator known as (Dollzter), shared practical tips, creative strategies, and real-life stories about the possibilities of traveling without or at the lowest possible costs through partnerships, content creation, and smart planning, during a workshop entitled “Travel the World for Free.”

Anna Germanos, Director of the Fast Consumer Goods, Luxury Products, Retail and E-Commerce Department for the Middle East and North Africa at META (INSEAD MBA), spoke about how to establish long-term relationships with brands and sustain creativity, during an interactive dialogue entitled “How content creators ensure the future of their careers.”

Content creator and appearance consultant Mariana Mustafina presented a workshop during which she discussed how to master the art of presenting confidently and authentically in front of the camera to enhance followers’ interaction.

Content creator Noura Ashmawy discussed how content creators can turn passion into a source of income during a special session titled “Learning what drives content creators,” and fitness expert and explorer Nelly Attar shared her own style of personal care and achieving the highest levels of performance during a session titled “Overcoming Obstacles Through Sports.”

Sources of inspiration and success stories.

A series of sessions highlighted some of the most prominent and successful content makers in the region. Content maker Bilqis (Becky Kasri) revealed her success story in transforming exciting adventures and experiences into attractive content and a thriving career during the session “How I Succeeded in Turning Adrenaline into a Career.” Content maker Raghad Fahmy also spoke in a session entitled “10 Million Followers and a Medical Degree: How I Succeeded in Achieving This” about her life and the challenges and gains she experienced during her pursuit of two dreams. Ambitious, she also shared with attendees a set of time management strategies.

The Hadban twins, well-known Emirati content creators, revealed the strategies, creative methods and personal journey that contributed to their distinction and success on the Instagram platform during a session moderated by Samer Jamal entitled “How We Succeeded in Winning the Instagram Ring.”

In a dialogue session entitled “Dialogue with the El Gamal Family,” sisters Narine, Sidra, and Sherine Amara spoke about their journey towards success. The conversation was moderated by Joanna Jamil, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Meta, and touched on the role of a strong family bond, teamwork, and a shared passion for the world of beauty in building a successful brand and achieving growth together.

Content creators Sarah Al-Wara and Ghaith Marwan also hosted an interactive dialogue entitled “#AskMe_Anything: Ghaith and Sarah,” during which they revealed the behind-the-scenes and secrets of their success journey on the Instagram platform.

In an interactive session entitled “Morning Coffee with the Khalidi Sisters,” Yusor and Maryam Al Khalidi reviewed their inspiring journey, starting from their early beginnings to their amazing success in the luxury market.

In a session titled “From Likes to Laboratories: The Future of Science on Social Media,” scientific content creator and director Hashem Al-Ghaili revealed the methods through which content makers transform complex scientific discoveries into content that achieves widespread dissemination, and how they contribute to changing learning methods around the world, in a dialogue moderated by Samer Jamal.

Faten Al-Mukhtar, creative strategy expert for the Middle East and Africa region at Meta, reviewed methods for capturing content without using hands, sharing content easily, and creating new storytelling methods using the latest Meta smart glasses, during a workshop entitled “Artificial Intelligence Glasses Academy.”

Samer Jamal and content creator Rana Mag also presented a workshop entitled “Professional Editing: Elevating Video Content with the Edits Application,” to introduce all the superior features that the application provides to enrich and simplify the creative process.

As an extension of these sessions, the “Ideas Unboxed with Meta AI” event at Instagram House represented one of the most prominent features of Meta’s presence at the summit, as this event represents a challenge to creative people to implement unconventional ideas, using artificial intelligence tools according to specific creative and time standards and constraints.

The challenge, which embodied an immersive interactive experience, attracted content creators from across Africa, the Middle East and Turkey to participate through four interactive stations related to creating story ideas and choosing effects, taking advantage of a dedicated photography studio and an editing room.

Participants developed and published a high-impact Reel video in just 45 minutes, utilizing Meta AI as the main creative assistant. The event reviewed the contributions of content makers, including Milad and Melissa, Sofkooli, and Walid Yiri.

This event concluded with an exclusive ceremony held by Meta, during which it was announced that Amina Hussein and Ahmed Hossam won the first edition of the “Ideas Unboxed with Meta AI” challenge.
