"Abu Dhabi Arabic Language" .. sustainable reading establishes a knowledge society

Abu Dhabi, August 11/ WAM/ The societal campaign to support sustainable reading, launched by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, has achieved great successes during the first half of this year, and carried the slogan “Knowledge Society, Society Knowledge”, in line with the UAE declaration of the year 2025 “the year of society”, and within the strategic vision of the center, aimed at promoting the Arabic language, and devoting culture Reading with society in all its age categories.

The campaign, which extends throughout the year, stressed the importance of reading as an effective tool for embodying the principles of “the general community”, as it aimed to enable the Arabic language as an inherent component of the identity of society expressing its heritage and values, consolidating the culture of reading, increasing society’s passion for it, and encouraging new generations to adopt reading as a daily habit expanding their horizons and developing their talents.

Through its activities, including the 34th session of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which received 2350 school trips, she succeeded in highlighting the importance of reading and its role in individual and societal development.

The campaign included more than 2000 creative activities, including 250 activities and major initiative, implemented in cooperation with more than 100 governmental and private entities, and with the participation of about 400 creators and more than 15 universities, targeting more than 50 thousand, from society groups in schools, universities, institutions, and public places, which reflects the superior ability of the campaign to attract and attract participants, creators, and the public, whether directly through the presence Events, or through the media and social media platforms.

His Excellency Saeed Hamdan Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, said that the community campaign to support sustainable reading succeeded in fulfilling the targeted performance indicators, and achieved its goals to make reading a sustainable habit in the life of society.

He added that after six months of qualitative activities that covered almost all sectors of work and life, the campaign continues its career until the end of this year, with a renewed and varied package of activities and events distributed over 14 knowledge fields, affecting different groups of society of all ages, interests and cultures, each field includes a studied group of initiatives, seminars, reading sessions, dialogue meetings, workshops and other workshops Innovative activities that reflect the center’s commitment to its responsibility in serving society, consolidating the concept of cultural sustainability, and enhancing the presence of the Arabic language as the language of innovation, creativity, science and arts.

All the departments of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language and its Cultural Projects participated in the activities and programs of the campaign, which covered most of the community’s interests.

These activities included reading clubs, creative writing workshops, intellectual lectures, and dialogue meetings with creators and thinkers.

The campaign also organized the “Kalima” club sessions for reading in its various branches, artistic seminars, “Books C w wardium” tours, specialized courses, poetry evenings, and stories.

Activities also included programs concerned with folklore, artificial intelligence technologies programs, radio and educational programs, in addition to producing videos and organizing field visits to libraries, schools and universities, and historical places.

Among the qualitative initiatives, the campaign launched the “Digital Reading Month” through the literary platforms of the center, such as the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, the treasure of the generation, and the gold narration award, and witnessed a great demand for participation in it.

Other societal initiatives were also launched, including “100 stories from our society”, “We Read for Children” and “The Child Read”, and these efforts were concluded by organizing an introductory session of the “Friends of the Arabic Language” competition.

The qualitative campaign continues its valuable activities, to include many programs and initiatives, most notably: the “Reading in Biological Facilities” initiative, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and its cities, and the “What do you read in a week?” And the effectiveness of “Let’s read in Arabic”, aimed at creating an area to exchange knowledge and ideas between reading lovers, which contributes to maximizing the impact of the campaign and achieving concrete results at the societal level.

These programs and initiatives reflect the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Language Center in promoting the presence of the Arabic language among all members of society, and consolidating the culture of reading.
