600 villages benefit from the Iftar of the International Charitable Organization in the Islamic World

Ajman, 5 March / WAM / The International Charity Organization announced that more than 600 villages benefit from the “Iftar Fasting” project, which it implements in many countries of the Islamic world, as it distributed 225,000 meals and more than 16,000 food parcels to break the fast in Muslim villages during the first half of Ramadan.

His Excellency Dr. Khaled Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the Authority, confirmed that the project embodies the UAE’s humanitarian mission and its established values ​​in extending a helping hand to those in need wherever they are, noting that the Authority’s teams and offices have intensified their efforts since the first day of the holy month to ensure that aid reaches those who need it in a timely manner and in a way that preserves their dignity.

He said that the Authority was keen this year to expand the scope of the project geographically and increase the number of beneficiaries, in response to the increasing humanitarian needs in a number of countries, revealing that the distribution operations also included workers within the country and needy families.

He added that the project is being implemented according to organized work mechanisms that guarantee speed of completion and accuracy of targeting, in coordination with official authorities in the beneficiary countries, and in line with local laws and approved humanitarian standards, explaining that the Authority has adopted a field follow-up system that allows for continuous evaluation of performance and measurement of impact.

His Excellency indicated that the Authority is continuing to implement its other projects, such as distributing zakat and Eid clothing and supporting urgent humanitarian cases, as well as construction projects such as building mosques, schools, homes, health centers, and digging wells, stressing that the Authority is continuing to expand its specific programs that focus on sustainability and achieving a long-term development impact in the beneficiary communities.

The Secretary-General appreciated the support of benefactors and donors inside and outside the country, stressing that their contributions played a major role in enabling the Authority to reach millions of beneficiaries, calling on community members and institutions to continue giving during the remainder of the holy month to maximize the humanitarian impact and establish a culture of solidarity and compassion.
