Dubai Police launches the electronic games championship Thursday

Dubai, August 11 / WAM / The activities of the fifth edition of the Dubai Electronic Games Championship will start next Thursday, and will continue until August 17, with the participation of more than 1500 players of various nationalities, and with financial prizes of up to 200 thousand dirhams.
Major Abdullah Al -Shehhi, Director of Electronic Crime Department in the General Administration of Criminal Investigations and Investigations during a press conference held by the Dubai Police General Command in the Bicycle Building at Officers Club, stressed that the tournament aims to enhance digital awareness and prevent electronic crimes, pointing to the importance of the “ECRIME” and “electronic awareness” platforms.
For his part, Rashid Mohamed Abdullah, head of the Planning and Implementation Department of Events in the Dubai Sports Council during the conference, explained during the conference to support this initiative as it targets the youth category, while Mona Al Falasi, Director of Electronic Sports and Games Strategy in the Department of Economics and Tourism in Dubai, pointed out to the role of electronic games in creating new economic opportunities.
