An Emirati company creates a solar solar power station in Central Africa

Pangji, August 18/ WAM/ The Abu Dhabi -based investment company, “Global South South”, has announced the start of the construction of a 50 -megawatled solar solar power plant in the city of Sakai, Central Africa, in a qualitative step towards improving the opportunities to provide electricity and accelerate the transformation of clean energy in the country.
The station is expected to provide clean electricity for more than 300,000 homes across the country, and contribute to reducing more than 50 thousand tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, and the project will include a system for storing energy in batteries with a capacity of 10 MW/h, with the aim of enhancing the stability of the electrical network and ensuring the continuity of energy saving. Besides, the project supports the employment of local competencies and the transfer of technical knowledge, which enhances comprehensive economic development.
The inauguration of the project took place in the presence of Fustan Archang Tuwadira, President of the Central African Republic, His Excellency Pascal Bida Quwijili, Minister of State for Strategic Investments and major projects, and a number of ministers, officials and senior executives from “Global South Uttelite”.
Ali Al -Shammari, Managing Director and CEO of “Global South Utoletes”, said that for the Central African Republic, the project will contribute to providing energy supplies to local communities, while this step represents an additional achievement for his company’s commitment to provide clean, flexible and expandable energy solutions in areas that some think is difficult.
This project comes in the wake of the signing of the comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the UAE and the Central African Republic in March 2025, which aims to deepen trade and investment relations in major sectors.
This solar power plant is part of the growing “Global South Utoleite” portfolio in clean energy projects in the African continent, which reflects the UAE’s commitment to investing in climatic solutions and effective economic partnerships with the global southern countries.
