The Emirati rescue team continues its efforts to put out forest fires in Albania

Tirana on August 18 / WAM / The Emirati Salvation Team continues its efforts to put out the firefights of the forests in several regions of the Republic of Albania, in coordination with the competent Albanian authorities.

The Emirati team works highly efficiently to contain fires and reduce their spread, despite field challenges such as high temperatures and the difficult terrain.

To date, the team operations included 18 sorties using two Black Hawk aircraft, which included the implementation of 359 water offensive operations on fire foci.

The team had started its duties last Monday in the Gramash Forests and the surrounding areas, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him”, to support Albania’s efforts to control forest fires.

Coordination meetings between the Emirati team and dairy officials are still continuing to develop appropriate plans and accelerate firefighters, while continuing field control to prevent renewed fire.
