Japan’s exports are witnessing the largest decline in four years

Tokyo on August 20/ WAM/ Japan’s exports recorded the largest monthly decrease in four years last July, with the increasing impact of American customs duties, according to government data issued today “Wednesday”.
Japan’s total exports decreased by 2.6 % on an annual basis last July by value, in the largest monthly decrease since February 2021, when exports fell by 4.5 %.
The decrease was greater than the average market expectations of a decrease of 2.1 %, and represents a decrease for the third month in a row after a decrease of 0.5 % last June.
Exports to the United States of America decreased 10.1 % a year ago.
