Under the patronage of Muhammad bin Saud, the launch of the initiative to support beekeepers and produce honey Sidr in Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah, August 20 / WAM / It is launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, on the first of next October, the initiative to support beekeepers and produce honey of Sidr for the citizens of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, with the aim of strengthening the beekeeping sector and enhancing the quality of honey production, as one of the vital and sustainable sectors.
The initiative aims to support and encourage beekeepers to develop their competencies in the production of Sidr honey in high quality, in order to enhance the sustainability of this vital sector, and rise to local production levels, as well as spreading the spirit of competition between educators and qualifying them to adopt international best practices.
The conditions for participation in the initiative include that the participant is a citizen of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, and the dissolution is licensed within the emirate’s scope and registered with the Environmental Protection and Development Authority in Ras Al Khaimah, and that the number of bee houses is not less than 25 boxes as a minimum of the participant, while committing the breeder to apply the correct foundations for beekeeping, and refrain from using medicines or chemical antibiotics in beekeeping.
The participants will be evaluated according to the standards of sustainability, health, safety, quality, and administrative efficiency.
The initiative allocated 20 awards to the distinguished participants, so that the first winner receives 25,000 dirhams, then the prize value decreases by 500 dirhams for each center until the twentieth place, in the context of motivating the beekeepers to compete and develop their production.
Saud Sultan Bolila, head of the organizing committee for the initiative, pointed out that in the first stage, the beekeepers will be chosen according to their expertise and their efficiency, provided that the registration is through a dedicated electronic link that allows the entry of the required data and attachments, followed by an initial accreditation phase from a specialized committee, followed by field visits to ensure that the requirements match, before moving to the actual evaluation stage, and an introductory file will be prepared for each participant, up to the issuance of an approved final report The lists of beekeepers qualified for the initiative.
He stressed that the initiative comes within the framework of the keenness of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah to support sustainable environmental projects, enhance the production of local Sidr honey known for its quality and high value, and the development of the beekeeping sector in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, in order to establish the emirate’s position as an important center for sustainable production and food security.
