The slowdown in the renewable energy market in Italy during the first half

Rome, August 23/WAM/The data of the Italian National Union of Electronic and Electrical Companies revealed the slowdown in the renewable energy market in Italy during the first half of 2025, especially in the field of solar energy.
The Italian Observatory said in a statement that the connected capacity of solar energy in the Bazilikata region reached 37 MW compared to 70 MW in the same period of 2024 .. Marisol Chesi, representative of the “Castari” group, head of the renewable energy community in Moliterreno, Italy, stressed the importance of keeping pace with the rest of the Italian regions of developments in the field of energy storage, especially with the approaching September 30, which will witness the first auction of the long -term storage market where 10 GWh will be allocated from the new storage capacity that must be implemented by 2028.
In this regard, the Italian plan aims to achieve 71 GWh of storage capacity and 9 GW of production capacity by 2030, with financial support of 17.7 billion euros, which is a decisive step towards energy independence in Italy.
