Election of a new board of directors of the Basketball Federation .. and the recommendation of Ghalia Al -Mazmi for the seat of the female component

Today, Sunday, the General Assembly of the Basketball Federation chose the new board of directors for the 2024-2028 electoral cycle, at the headquarters of the Sports Federations at the headquarters of the Olympic Committee in Dubai, in elections that took place between six candidates to choose the five members of the Council, in addition to the female component.
The General Assembly witnessed the completion of the quorum in the presence of 18 clubs, who are the members of the General Assembly of the game in the country, during which the Sharjah Club candidate Abdul Latif Al -Fardan won the position of President of the Federation by acclamation, and Ghalia Abdullah Al -Mazmi’s candidate for the Sharjah Women Sports Foundation won the membership of the Board of Directors for the women’s element.
The election results resulted in the victory of Mohamed Saleh, the candidate of Al -Hamriya Club, Hamdan Saeed, Al -Jazira club candidate, and Farid Al -Quwaini, the candidate of Al -Nasr Club, in the majority of the votes (18 votes), while Ibrahim Muhammad Abbas, Al -Ahly youth candidate, won 16 votes, and Ali Hassan Al -Amiri, the candidate of Al -Battah Club, got 13 votes, while the seventh candidate Mansour Al -Hashemi, the representative of Al Ain Club, got seven votes.
The President of the Basketball Federation, Abdullatif Al -Fardan, expressed his happiness with the confidence of the General Assembly and his recommendation for the new session, and he said in press statements: “I thank the Ministry of Sports and the National Olympic Committee for their support for sports and athletes, and to the former basketball federations and boards of directors, especially Major General Ismail Al -Qarqawi, President of the Arab Federation, who learned a lot from.”
