The “Red Carpet” at Dubai Airport ends travel procedures in 6 seconds without documents

The General Administration of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai, in cooperation with Dubai airports, launched the “Red Carpet” corridor at Dubai International Airport, as the first service of its kind in the world that allows travelers to pass passport procedures within a few seconds, and without the need to highlight any travel documents, with the possibility of processing up to 10 travelers at the same time via the smart corridor, and the corridor depends on artificial intelligence systems and vital recognition, where data processes in advance To ensure the identity of the travelers, the transit process is carried out without stopping or highlighting documents, while the special cases of manual review are transformed, in order to maintain the highest safety standards.
It is estimated that the new corridor completes the transit process in a time between 6 and 14 seconds for each traveler, and at a rate of 10 people together, compared to the traditional methods that treat one traveler at a time, which reduces the waiting time and enhances the airport’s capacity.
The launch of the “red carpet” comes as part of Dubai’s efforts to strengthen its global pioneering location in the field of smart travel, and to consolidate the position of Dubai International Airport as the most crowded international airports in international trips for the 11th year in a row, reflecting the emirate’s commitment to innovation and adopting the latest technologies to serve travelers.
