The Emirati rescue team concludes its participation in efforts to put out the firefights of Albania’s forests

Tirana on the first of September/ WAM/ The UAE Salvation Team concluded its participation in efforts to extinguish forest fires in the Republic of Albania after spent several weeks supported by human cadres qualifying for such operations, planes, equipment and materials for the necessary firefighting.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, Mohamed El -Sherif, said that during this mission, the team carried out 700 water drops, equivalent to about 1,300 tons of water and firefighting materials through 28 sorties.
He stressed that the team’s prominent contributions to relief and humanitarian operations reflect the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries and the entrepreneurial role of the UAE in international humanitarian work.
The team had started its duties on August 12 in the affected areas, which included the forests of Qarmash, Al -Walli, the coastal area of Flurah, and others, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him.
The Albanian government honored the efforts of the participating rescue teams, including the Emirati team, in the presence of Prime Minister Eddie Rama, and with the participation of senior military leaders.
Albania expressed its appreciation for the efforts of the national forces and volunteers to enhance security and confront natural disasters and humanitarian crises.
Albania thanked all the participants in the operations, stressing the importance of continuing cooperation between the national forces and international partner parties, in order to enhance Albania’s capabilities to face future challenges.
