Closed television monitoring covers 8 areas in Abu Dhabi schools

The Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi obligated the schools in the emirate to implement a comprehensive security system, to ensure the care of the school’s origins, data and employees from any harm they may be exposed to, so that schools are equipped with integrated and effective systems for security and access, including the presence of security surveillance cameras (closed TV circuits systems), and to ensure that they provide coverage of eight areas in the school.

She stressed that all schools must be fully compatible with this policy, by the first of February 2026.

In detail, the department stated that the eight areas in schools include entrances and exits in the buildings and squares of the school, and all public paths and places (such as corridors, stairs, school square, sports hall, sports fields, school shelling, libraries), areas of students from private vehicles and school buses, their rise, and security areas (such as the control room) And dangerous areas.

She pointed out in the new policy to ensure care, which was circulated to schools, and the Emirates Today obtained a copy of it, that the remaining areas include: the external areas surrounding the school, learning spaces (such as classrooms, laboratories, studio rooms and innovation spaces), and the entrances to the bathrooms (water courses), clothing changing rooms, and non -visible sites (blind points) inside the school campus.

The installation of surveillance cameras inside water sessions or clothes change rooms, or any other areas that require conservation of privacy, was prohibited, with the necessity of adhering to placing illustrations throughout the school indicating that the region is subject to surveillance cameras.

She stressed the need for the school to ensure the installation and maintenance of monitoring systems through a licensed supplier from the Follow -up and Control Center, and to maintain a valid maintenance contract, and monitor the work of surveillance cameras daily, to ensure that they provide appropriate coverage for the specified spaces.

She said that if any problem is discovered, schools must inform the supplier immediately, and make sure to take immediate action in line with the terms of the contract.

The department has registered the authority to access videos and cameras recordings, and committed schools to have a control and control room to monitor what the surveillance cameras offer, and to ensure that their appointed operators by the supplier are only the ones who see the clips and records.

The school principal also authorized the direct presentation of the school surveillance cameras from his office, and gave him the permission to reach the recordings and re -display them, and he also gave him the right to allow other employees to do so whenever the need is required.

She stressed the need for schools to retain a record of the names of all individuals who have been granted permission to see the clips wherever this applies, and the school must provide access to clips and records of surveillance cameras for the employees of the Education and Knowledge Department authorized to do so, noting that schools must adhere to the registration of monitoring systems for a period of not less than 90 days, according to the latest requirements of the follow -up center And control.

She stressed that it is strictly prohibited to copy or distribute surveillance cameras, and the law is punishable by this, based on the decree of a federal law No. (34) of 2021 regarding the fight against rumors and electronic crimes, and if the surveillance cameras are taken in the school an accident that requires raising the matter outside the school level, the school must notify the circle immediately to take the necessary action.

The administrators and teachers in private schools: Ibrahim Zahran, Saud Muhammad, Amani Hafez, Maryam Hamed and Lamia Al -Arabi emphasized that covering the school areas with a closed television control system that would ensure the highest standards of security, health and safety in school Pre -proactive solutions that control the situation and prevent it from developing, in addition to monitoring any negative behaviors, or possible health risks, and non -compliance with any preventive measures that may be circulated in schools.

They pointed out that the monitoring system guarantees the follow -up of the school administration for each corner of the school, and through the follow -up and monitoring of recordings, it is possible to identify the psychological state of students by analyzing the facial expressions, helping the teaching staff in designing initiatives and plans that improve students’ well -being in the school, and the monitoring supports at the same time students who suffer from introverted or hyperactivity.


Student care standards

The Department of Education and Knowledge emphasized that commitment to the highest standards of care and protection of students is very important in the school environment, which requires schools in Abu Dhabi to enhance safe practices and protect students from harm, to ensure the development and growth of each student.

She said that this is one of the student’s rights in accordance with the decree of Federal Law No. (3) of 2016 regarding the rights of the child “Widima”, noting that the new policy to ensure care determines the priorities and procedures related to ensuring care and enhancing students ’security and physical and psychological safety, and the responsibilities determine security requirements within the school to ensure the implementation of full care protocols.
