Saudi dates of various types of high quality constitute a strategic economic and cultural resource for society, and a direct contributor to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by supporting the national economy.

The imprint of Saudi dates went beyond the local scope to reach more than 120 countries around the world, recording a qualitative leap in the volume of exports. The total value of which amounted to about 1,695 billion riyals.

High-quality dates

The National Center for Palms and Dates explained that agricultural diversity in the regions of Hail, Al-Jawf and Asir has resulted in the production of 33 local varieties of high-quality dates.

These varieties have a remarkable presence on Saudi Ramadan tables, due to their high nutritional value and health benefits, which make them the preferred choice for consumers during the days of the holy month.

The center revealed in its data that the total volume of production in the three regions exceeds the threshold of 157 thousand tons annually, supported by a huge and sustainable agricultural infrastructure.

Agricultural map of dates

The regions of Hail, Al-Jawf and Asir contain more than 26 thousand palm farms, with the number of trees exceeding 3.5 million palm trees produced with standard specifications.

The Hail region alone accounts for the production of 20 varieties, It is led by “Hilwat Hail”, “Al-Kasbah” and “Al-Rakhimi”, while Asir Farms offers 10 diverse varieties, most notably “Al-Safri”, “Al-Barni” and “Al-Shakal”.

The Al-Jawf region stands out on the agricultural map of dates for producing unique varieties that have gained wide fame, led by two main varieties, “Helwat Al-Jawf” and “Al-Hussainiya”.
