The Jordanian army announces that it confronted 79 Iranian missiles and drones in the second week of the war

The Jordanian Army announced in a statement on Saturday that the Royal Air Force responded, during the second week of the war waged by Israel and the United States against Iran, to 79 missiles and drones launched by Tehran against “vital sites” inside the Kingdom.

The statement issued by the Directorate of Military Information in the Jordanian Armed Forces said that “85 missiles and drones were launched from Iran directly towards the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan during the past week of the war, targeting vital” Jordanian sites.

The statement added, “79 missiles and drones were intercepted by the Royal Air Force, while the defenses were unable to repel five drones and one missile, which led to them falling inside Jordanian territory.”

He stressed that “the Jordanian Armed Forces are continuing their duty to defend the homeland and protect it from all attacks, and are working to harness all their efforts and the utmost of their energies in order to preserve the security of the Kingdom and the safety of its citizens.”

For his part, a spokesman for the Public Security Directorate confirmed that 93 shrapnel resulting from missiles and drones had fallen in most governorates over the past week, wounding nine people whose general condition was moderate.
Jordanian Military Media Director, Brigadier General Mustafa Al-Hayari, accused Iran last Saturday of targeting the country’s vital installations, stressing that its 119 missiles and drones launched at Jordan during the first week of the war were not fleeting.
