"The Union for Human Rights": The UAE embodies its humanitarian mission as a global center for charitable work

Abu Dhabi, September 4/ WAM/ The Union Society for Human Rights affirmed that the UAE continues to establish a unique humanitarian model that made it at the forefront of donor countries for aid around the world, as its initiatives exceed the limits of urgent relief to create a sustainable development impact and enable the most needy societies, in a real translation of the values of effort and giving in its national identity, as it exceeded its external aid from the foundation until May 2025, “368” billion dirhams, from which more than a billion people have benefited in 200 countries and regions, including 580 million children and 200 million women, which reflects the state’s firm commitment to the values of giving and solidarity.
The association explained, in celebration of the International Day of Charitable Work, which falls on the fifth of September every year, that charitable work in the UAE is based on the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul”, and is strengthened by the efforts of the wise leadership and state institutions, through major councils, agencies and initiatives such as the International Humanitarian Affairs, the Emirates International Aid Agency, the Mohammed bin Zayed Foundation for the human impact, and the legacy Zayed Humanitarian is worth 20 billion dirhams, in addition to the pivotal role of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, the Red Crescent, the Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation for Humanitarian Work, the Mohammed bin Rashid International initiatives and other donors and charitable bodies that have become major arms of Emirati humanitarian work at the international level.
She added that the state strengthened its charitable approach with a legislative framework and leading policies, which included the Federal Law for Regulatory Regulatory (2021) and the Public benefit law “2023” that allowed the establishment of charitable institutions, as well as the national policy of foreign aid that focuses on seven international issues that include: infrastructure, empowerment and protection of women and girls, education, health, and confront climate change, food security, and food security, Science, technology and innovation.
She referred to the innovative Emirati initiatives such as “Stopping a Billion Meals”, “Stopping Father”, “Stopping the Mother”, “The Farish Knight”, and “Al -Faraj Fund”, as well as relief campaigns “A help you oh Yemen”, and “For you, Somalia”, “The Emirates to the children and women of the Rohingya”, and “Let’s make their winter warmer”, “Bridges of goodness”, For Gaza, “and other initiatives that embodied the approach of good inherent in the UAE.
She also affirmed that the UAE has also allocated significant funds to support international alliances, education, health and hunger projects, as it allocated $ 100 million to the Global Alliance to Combat Hunger and Poverty, and supported the “last tendency” initiative with a value of 55 million dirhams, and also established a global center for emergency services for emergency services in cooperation with the World Health Organization, and funded the second stage of the living and living fund with 50 million dollars, as well as supporting programs Anti -hunger, malnutrition, disaster response in Africa, Asia and Latin America, school building projects and promoting peace and stability in conflict areas.
She indicated that the UAE was not limited to development support, but rather played a pivotal role in responding to humanitarian crises, as it hosted since 2021 more than 17,600 Afghan and provided them with comprehensive care before they moved to 21 final destinations, at a cost of more than 1.3 billion dirhams, and it has evacuated more than 41 thousand people from Afghanistan, and provided humanitarian and development assistance exceeding 740 million dirhams During the past three years.
She stressed that these efforts strengthened the global status of the Emirates, which for years, the first in the world as the largest donor to foreign aid compared to its national income, as well as ranked ninth globally in the Giving Index for the year 2025, within the rankings of the international soft power.
The association emphasized that the UAE, leadership and people, made charitable work a firm value and a sustainable approach, and that the International Day of Charitable Work constitutes a station to renew the commitment to the march of humanitarian giving, and the establishment of the state’s position as a major partner in making the positive impact regionally and internationally.
