Obliging schools with a comprehensive plan to support the special cases of students and address psychological problems

The Ministry of Education has obligated public schools in the various emirates of the state to prepare a comprehensive support plan for students since the beginning of the school year, based on academic records and health and social history, with the aim of enhancing discipline, commitment to attend and reducing repeated absence.

Special cases
The plan includes addressing students from people of determination, chronic diseases or psychological problems, in a manner that ensures the provision of an integrated educational environment that meets their needs.

Data analysis
The schools, according to the instructions, analyze the absence and attendance data, develop individual plans to support students, while involving parents in their discussion, and holding periodic meetings with student councils to follow up on the challenges that may hinder the regularity of students.

Various activities
The ministry said: “The plan includes class and no classy activities to enhance motivation, as well as psychological and social counseling sessions to address the reasons leading to absence.”

Achieving results
The Ministry stressed that in the event that the desired results are not achieved within a month of the implementation of the plan, the issue is raised to the domain manager and the competent authorities to take the necessary measures.

Serial alerts
The ministry set a clear sequence of alerts and warnings in the event of absence without an acceptable excuse, starting from the first alert after one day, then warnings when absence, three, six, nine days, to refer the student’s file to the child protection unit. In the event that the student exceeds fifteen days of absence without an acceptable excuse, his file is transferred directly to the Child Protection Unit and the Life Quality Management in the school operations sector.

The Ministry affirmed that these measures reflect its commitment to protect the student’s right to learn, ensure the quality of the educational process, and to consolidate the values ​​of discipline and responsibility in the school community.
