During a visit to the United States .. "Energy Circle -Abu Dhabi" Expect an agreement with "Goldman Sachs" To develop the water sector

Abu Dhabi, September 9 / WAM / The Energy Department in Abu Dhabi announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding, the first of its kind between a government agency in the emirate and the Goldman Sachs International, with the aim of discussing ways to attract foreign direct investment, develop partnerships between the public and private sectors, and implement joint projects to modernize water infrastructure.

Cooperation areas include the deployment of advanced processing technologies, enhancing network elasticity, and researching asset liquefaction options while allowing private capital to finance biological projects.

The signature of the memo came during a visit by a delegation from the Energy Department in Abu Dhabi, headed by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Hamid Al -Jarwan, President of the Department, to the United States of America, aimed at strengthening international cooperation, expanding the scope of strategic partnerships in the energy and water sectors, and supporting the transformation process in the two sectors by exploring the latest solutions and techniques supporting sustainability and innovation.

The delegation tour included the states of California, Texas, Michigan, Massachusetts and New York, where he held high -level meetings with government officials, research institutions, technological companies, innovation incubators, and investment centers.

The talks focused on exchanging experiences and seeing best organizational and operational practices, cooperation in advanced infrastructure, sustainable organizational models, employment of digital technologies, and discussions included organizing legislation of smart networks, renewable energy in agriculture, network security and stability, research cooperation in storing energy and advanced materials, water management and infrastructure experiences Smart, in addition to clean technology initiatives and sustainable projects financing.

The delegation also discussed the prospects for developing the “AD.We” digital platform launched by the department in cooperation with the “AIC” and “Priaste” companies, where the platform was reviewed during the meetings as an advanced national system that supports digital transformation and is based on artificial intelligence and predictive analyzes to manage biomedics with high efficiency.

Commenting on the partnership, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Hamid Al -Jarwan said that water security is an essential part of the energy conversion agenda in Abu Dhabi, and the partnership with a global financial institution the size of “Goldman Sachs” reflects the emirate’s commitment to attracting experiences and investments that guarantee the provision of flexible, effective water systems and ready for the future, indicating that the agreement constitutes a basis for solutions that combine economic feasibility and responsibility Environmental and social benefit, in line with the UAE Water Security Strategy 2036, and the framework of integrated water resources management in Abu Dhabi.

His Excellency stressed that the visit comes within the framework of the department’s commitment to enhancing international cooperation, noting that closely reviewing the organizational and technical models applied in the United States enhances efforts to develop effective policies and smart infrastructure to meet the challenges of the future.

He explained that the terms of the agreement include reducing losses in networks, expanding the scope of the new generation of clean -backed water desalination technologies, and consolidating a culture of rationalization of consumption, stressing that these partnerships support the position of the Emirates and Abu Dhabi as a regional center for sustainable facilities.

This agreement is consistent with the strategic framework of the Energy Department, which aims to enhance the participation of private sector, and attract foreign investments of up to 400 billion dirhams in the energy and water sectors by 2050.
The visit has resulted in the formation of joint work teams, the launch of programs for exchanging knowledge and experiences, implementing experimental projects in the areas of artificial intelligence, storing energy and water efficiency.

Through this visit, the Energy Department in Abu Dhabi aims to attract international best practices in the fields of energy, water and agriculture, and to find a platform for business development in cooperation with the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, in addition to holding strategic partnerships with research centers, leading universities, entrepreneurs, investment companies and sovereign funds.
