The Ministry of Finance emphasizes the importance of government contact in promoting financial awareness

Sharjah, September 11 / WAM / The Ministry of Finance participated in the fourteenth session of the International Forum for Governmental Communication 2025, held in Sharjah, with a dialogue session entitled “Financial Awareness for a Sustainable Tomorrow: How does government communication make an effect?”, With the participation of a group of governmental communication specialists from the financial sector.
The session, which was moderated by the content maker, Muhammad Al -Ajmani, witnessed a rich dialogue that brought together Azza Al Jasmi, Director of Government Communication Department at the Ministry of Finance, Mohamed Shawwa, Director of Communication and Strategic Partnerships in the General Secretariat of the National Committee to counter money laundering and combat terrorist financing, financing of illegal organizations and head of the Public and Private Partnership Forum to counter money laundering and terrorist financing, and Hussein Al Tunaiji, Director of Government Communication Department in the Finance Department The Dubai government, who discussed government communication roles in promoting financial awareness and the importance of integrating institutional efforts to achieve a sustainable impact on society and economy.
In her intervention, Azza Al Jasmi addressed the role of government communication as a strategic tool to consolidate government financial awareness, reviewing national success stories that contributed to achieving major projects that enhance financial sustainability and achieve societal welfare.
She emphasized that the integration of efforts between the federal and local bodies and partnership with the private sector and international financial institutions enhances the impact and makes financial communication a joint national project.
She pointed out that the Ministry of Finance focuses on involving the various societal groups in the government decisions industry through an integrated system, which facilitates the arrival of communication messages in a comprehensive way that reflects the state’s directions in promoting economic and social sustainability.
In turn, Mohamed Shalou focused on the role of strategic partnerships, local and international, in consolidating the culture of financial commitment and combating illegal practices, stressing that these partnerships enable governments to expand their impact, improve efficiency, and enhance the confidence of the public, while dealing with the complex challenges that require collective solutions.
He pointed to the role of the sub -committee for the partnership between the public and private sectors in the UAE to combat money laundering and terrorist financing in facilitating the exchange of information through an organized framework that enhances the effectiveness of both public and private authorities.
He stressed that the General Secretariat has signed memoranda of understanding with leading academic institutions to conduct joint research and present specialized training programs, which contributes to developing advanced knowledge and building national capabilities.
For his part, Hussein Al -Tunaiji explained during the session that the most prominent challenges facing financial awareness campaigns lie in the difficulty of reaching various societal segments and accurately measuring behavioral change, noting that these challenges can turn into opportunities by enhancing cooperation between government and private agencies and unifying messages to ensure the comprehensiveness of influence.
He pointed to the importance of engaging media and academic institutions as major partners in spreading financial culture, especially among young people and students.
Al -Tunaiji presented to the attendees as part of Dubai’s financial success stories in public communication campaigns, pointing to its great contribution to promoting digital transformation in government payments, and making government fees payment through digital channels “a general culture in the emirate.”
He affirmed the contribution of awareness campaigns led by the department for years in raising the percentage of government transactions paid by digital methods, until last year reached 97%.
At the end of the session, the forum administration honored the Ministry of Finance as a major partner, in appreciation of its active participation and its pivotal role in the event.
