Sharjah University team participates in "Football World Cup" China
Sharjah, September 13/ WAM/ The University of Sharjah will participate in the 2025 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the Chinese city of Dalian from September 17 to 28, with the support of the Ministry of Sports.
His Excellency Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports for the Sports Development and Competitiveness Sector, President of the Emirates Sports Federation for School and University Education Institutions, stressed that the participation of the Sharjah University team in the championship comes with the support of the Ministry of Sports headed by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Balah Al -Falasi in the context of its keenness to enhance the presence of university sport in international forums.
His Excellency praised the great support that His Excellency gives to university sports, and his keenness to enhance communication and rapprochement between the UAE youth and their counterparts from different countries of the world, in a way that translates the directives of the rational leadership in empowering young people and giving them opportunities for honorable representation in world championships.
This came during his visit to the training of the Sharjah University team, which represents the UAE in the championship with the participation of 16 countries under the supervision of the International University Sports Federation (Fisu), where the team members and technical and administrative bodies met and reassured their readiness to compete, and urge them to make the utmost efforts and provide a performance worthy of the reputation of the Emirati university sport, while showing the sportsmanship that distinguishes the children of the state.
Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum expressed his confidence in the capabilities and capabilities of the Sharjah University team, who previously won the first place in the last version of the University Games Championship organized by the Emirates Sports Federation for School and University Education Institutions, stressing that participation in this global forum is not limited to competition only, but also embodies the basic values of the International Federation of University Sports represented in excellence, respect, team spirit, and openness to diversity Academic and cultural.
