More than 16 million inmates in Emirates Hotel facilities during the first half of 2025

Abu Dhabi, September 14 / WAM / His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, announced that the hotel facilities in the country received during the first six months of this year more than 16.1 million inmates with a growth of 5.5% compared to the same period in 2024, stressing that the hospitality sector witnessed a distinguished performance during the last period, which reflects the sector’s flexibility and its ability to continue growth, in a way that enhances the competitiveness of the tourist environment in the country.

His Excellency stressed that this sector continues, thanks to the directives of the rational leadership, to achieve escalating growth rates that reflect its attractiveness and competitiveness at the regional and global levels, as a result of the integration of efforts between the government and private sectors, which represents an essential pillar to enhance the sustainability of the sector.

This came during his presidency of the third “Consultative Council for Hospitality” for the year 2025, in the presence of representatives of the public and private sectors from the directors and heads of the major national and international hotel establishments operating in the country.

The Council reviewed the most prominent indicators of the hospitality sector during the first half of this year, in addition to discussing national initiatives and programs aimed at developing the hospitality industry in the country and enhancing its investment opportunities, which contributes to the consolidation of the UAE’s position as a leading global tourist destination.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri explained that the Hospitality Consultative Council constitutes a vital platform to enhance work to launch innovative initiatives that contribute to achieving the target of the “National Tourism Strategy 2031”, and to consolidate the state’s position as a leading global tourist destination.

The meeting witnessed a review of the performance results of the hospitality sector in the country, as the number of hotel occupancy nights increased to 56 million nights, with a growth of 7.3%, and the average period of residence was 3.5 nights, with 1243 hotel establishments in the country that includes more than 216 thousand rooms.

The Council also continued the results of the “Summer Hospitality Camp 2025” organized by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism with the participation of 470 students and in cooperation with more than 35 parties of the hotel facilities operating in the country, which contributed to enhancing the skills of national cadres and qualifying them to work in the various fields of hospitality, in order to support resettlement efforts in the tourism sector.
