Work "Arabic Congress and creative industries" In Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, September 14 / WAM / The works of “Arab Congress and Creative Industries”, organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, were launched today under the slogan: “Re -imagine Arab creativity: innovation in narration and enhance the interaction of the public.”

The opening of the Congress in the Federation of Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Muhammad Khalifa Al -Mubarak, Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, attended, along with a group of Arab and international officials and creators and decision makers in the fields of culture, technology and media.

His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al -Mubarak said in his opening speech to Congress: “We meet today in this event that embodies the originality of our civilization and identity, and puts Arab innovations and creators in the eyes of the world.”

He explained that the cultural and creative industries play a major role in the global economy, as their value is estimated at more than two trillion and three hundred billion dollars annually, which is equivalent to about 3 % of the Global GDP, which made it an engine for growth, cultural exchange and sustainable development.

He added that in recent years the world has increased interest in cultural diversity and learn about the experiences of peoples, and this shift opens to Arab creativity an opportunity to take its place globally and has new investment opportunities.

He pointed out that Abu Dhabi put an ambitious vision to be an Arab and global center that supports this transformation, starting from the cultural region of Saadiyat Island, which represents a bridge linking the peoples of the world and a platform for institutions that embody global cultural and creative diversity.

He added that Abu Dhabi is also working to launch other leading programs and initiatives, through which it seeks to support cultural and creative industries in a way that reflects our local cultural values, to interact with the global narrative, and the UAE and the Arab region remain in the heart of the cultural arena.

In this regard, the price of His Excellency the partnership between the Abu Dhabi Center for Arabic and “Amazon International”, which will result in the establishment of the largest digital library for Arab content in the world, led by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center.

He stressed that this initiative will provide during the coming years thousands of Arabic books, printed, electronic and voice, to combine Abu Dhabi’s experience in publishing and Amazon techniques in distribution, in order to share Arab culture with millions of readers around the world.

He explained that this qualitative shift will make Arab literature more widespread in the digital space, and gives Arab creators unique opportunities to reach a wide and multi -cultural audience, and thus Abu Dhabi confirms its place is a global platform from which the authentic Arab narratives go towards the future.

He said that Abu Dhabi, the heart of the UAE, whipped with culture, is proud of identity and heritage, and adopts bridges of creativity through human diversity and communication, and today we prove that we are enriching the global culture with our local voices, and that the voices of Arab creators are able to reach the world and inspire people everywhere.

On its first day, the “Arab Concems and Creative Industries” witnessed a program full of dialogues, workshops and interactive sessions.

Congress aims to enhance the role of the Arabic language in enriching creative industries and contributing to the formulation of a renewed global cultural dialogue.

The convening of Congress comes in a renewed form and independent identity, to continue the successes it has achieved in its previous sessions, and to establish its position as the first specialized international platform that highlights the aesthetics of Arab creativity and its future capabilities, and puts renewed visions to enhance Arab presence in creative industries within scientific and systematic frameworks that serve the sustainable development goals in the cultural and economic fields.
