The start of the pre -emptive activities of the World Conference 2025 "We contain"

Sharjah, September 14 / WAM / The pre -emptive activities of the World Congress 2025 “We Humle” were launched by organizing the summit of self -advocacy and families in the presence of 270 participants from self -supporters, families and international experts in the field of societal integration of persons with mental disabilities.
The official program of the conference, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, will start from September 15 to 17 at the Expo Center Sharjah in the presence of a global presence of specialists and officials.
Sheikha Jamila bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, stressed the importance of the pre -emptive activities of the conference, noting that the organization of the “Summit of Self -Right” and the “Families Summit” is a translation of Sharjah’s keenness to involve the self -supporters and families from the beginning in formulating visions and basic messages of the conference.
She said that these preliminary meetings allow the participants to exchange experiences and discuss education, work and community participation issues in a manner that ensures that the conference be a platform that reflects their voices and their experiences, pointing out that hosting the conference in Sharjah for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa represents a firm commitment message to integration and containment issues.
In a related context, the Summit of the Self -supporters at the Bullman Hotel was held with the participation of 180 participants and opened by the two self -supporters, Sheikha Al Qasimi and Dominic Cantor, to welcome the participants and offered today’s goals.
Luis Gabriel Villarreal, Vice President of the Comprehensive Humility Organization, talked about the importance of a self -advocate, followed by a session entitled “Speakers: Central Issues in Our Life” during which a group of speakers discussed topics such as inclusive education and comprehensive functions with fair wages, voting, participation in political life and effective support that includes persons with disabilities and their families.
In a session entitled “How We Monitor for our Rights”, the leaders of the self -supporters talked about ways to ensure their rights, with examples of advocacy methods such as dialogue with governments or the use of the media, as it dealt with a session “How to use our major messages as leaders” the meaning of leadership and how people with disabilities can become leaders followed by collective activity on leadership that witnessed interactive work activities within small groups to prepare stickers about driving.
The summit of families held in the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry was attracted to 90 participants from families, experts and leaders, and its sessions discussed a group of axes, where a session entitled “From Vision to Work” explored the gaps between the vision, reality and obstacles that prevent the achievement of this vision at the level Tangier in converting visions into work plans on the ground.
