Qatar Security is an integral part of Arab and Islamic national security

On Sunday, senior diplomats from Arab and Islamic countries held a meeting in Qatar before an emergency summit called to discuss the Israeli attack that targeted Hamas leaders in Doha earlier last week.

The foreign and Islamic foreign ministers emphasized that Qatar’s security is an integral part of the Arab and Islamic national security, as they stressed the unity of the class in the face of the attacks.

The ministers considered during the preparatory meeting of the emergency Arab -Islamic summit in Doha, that “the Israeli attack on the State of Qatar represents a violation of international law and an escalation that threatens Arab, regional and international security and stability, a sign that aims to hit Arab and Islamic security and destabilize the region.”

Earlier on Sunday, the meeting was launched, against the backdrop of the Israeli attack on Qatar.

The spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry said that the convening of the summit reflects the wide Arab and Islamic solidarity with Doha, and confirms the rejection of these categorical countries to terrorize the state practiced by Israel.

The spokesman, Majid bin Muhammad Al -Ansari, said that this emergency summit “will discuss a draft statement on the Israeli attack on the State of Qatar presented by the preparatory meeting of foreign ministers of the Arab and Islamic countries that will be held on Sunday.”

Al -Ansari confirmed in a statement to the Qatar News Agency “Qena” that the convening of the summit “reflects the broad Arab and Islamic solidarity with the State of Qatar in the face of the cowardly Israeli aggression that targeted residential headquarters of a number of Hamas leaders, and these countries rejected the state’s terrorism practiced by Israel.”

Iran affirmed the participation of its president, Masoud Boussakian, in the summit, and Iraq, the participation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shi’a Al -Sudani. The Turkish presidency said that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Doha on Monday, without further details.

The Israeli raids, which targeted Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital, resulted in the killing of 5 members of the movement and a member of the Qatari security forces.

The attack was a large -scale international condemnation, especially from the Gulf countries, the US ally, the main supporter of Israel.

Qatar is in the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza alongside the United States and Egypt.

Andreas Craig of the Kings College College in London said that the Israeli raids “are considered an unprecedented violation of sovereignty and an attack on the diplomacy itself. By hosting this summit, Doha indicates that such aggression cannot pass as a natural matter.”

He added that “the goal is to draw clear red lines and end the impression that Israel can act without punishment,” noting that it is expected to adopt the summit, “a more firm position towards Palestine and more stringent towards Israel’s practices.”
