An international delegation that sees the UAE experience as a global model in peaceful nuclear energy

Abu Dhabi, September 15 / WAM / The Federal Nuclear Control Authority hosted today an international delegation that included 31 officials from 19 countries within the framework of the international program of energy leaders of the government knowledge exchange office at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs.
The visit highlighted the UAE’s experience in developing the first peaceful nuclear energy program in the Arab world, which is considered a role model for new countries that intend to build nuclear energy programs.
In this context, His Excellency Ambassador Hamad Al -Kaabi, the permanent representative of the UAE at the International Atomic Energy Agency and Vice -Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Nuclear Supervision Authority, said that the Emirates peaceful nuclear energy program reflects the vision of the leadership of the wise state to secure clean and reliable energy for the future, as the program has become a model for countries that intend to create nuclear energy programs, stressing their willingness to share the UAE experience with various countries to enhance international cooperation and security Energy.
The visiting delegation is identified on the integrated system for controlling the nuclear sector from setting the supervisory framework, building and operating nuclear stations, and ensuring their sustainability for the long term.
The authority presented its control structure, which includes safety and security and the prohibition of nuclear proliferation in addition to emergency alert and building the capabilities of Emiratis in this vital sector. It also presented various future projects that cover areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, small nuclear nuclear reactors and waste management.
For its part, the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company reviewed the contributions of the Baraka Nuclear Energy Station, where how the UAE was completed by four reactors according to the highest international standards, and its contribution to the state’s strategy to reach the target of climate neutrality by 2050.
The delegation toured the Authority’s emergency operations center, where they were briefed on the state system to deal with nuclear and radiological emergencies, and participated in dialogues on innovation, youth empowerment and global cooperation in the field of nuclear safety.
