Special Envoy for Business and Charitable Business Affairs concludes a visit to Italy to enhance strategic cooperation

Milan, September 15 / WAM / His Excellency Badr Jaafar, the Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Business and Charitable Affairs, concluded a series of high -level visits to Italy, which included Rome and Milan aimed at strengthening the growing partnership between the two friendly countries in the fields of trade, innovation and community development.

These visits came as a continuation of a “state visit” by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to the Italian Republic earlier this year and witnessed the signing of a historic investment agreement worth $ 40 billion.

His Excellency stressed the relevant efforts of the UAE to develop business diplomacy and promote cooperation across various sectors with main European partners, while continuing to develop bilateral obligations and existing partnerships.

The economic relations between the UAE and Italy are one of the strongest and most vital partnerships in the euro area. In 2024, the volume of non -oil trade between the two countries reached 13.81 billion US dollars, an increase of 18.71% over the previous year.

The Emirati investments in Italy also reached about $ 178 million between 2020 and 2024, while Italian investments in the country amounted to approximately $ 602 million.

These investment flows reflect confidence in the UAE’s website as a regional platform for sustainable growth based on innovation.

During the visit, His Excellency Jaafar in Rome and Milan met prominent leaders in the fields of business, financing, charitable work and the government sector, and discussions focused on exploring new opportunities that allow the Italian authorities to engage in several major areas in the UAE economy, such as: transformation of energy, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and life sciences.

The visit contributed to deepening dialogue through the various sectors in order to define the opportunities available to enhance integration and accelerate constructive partnerships and at the same time, the implementation of experimental initiatives in the field of strategic charitable work, especially in developing youth skills and health systems, was discussed in cooperation with leading Italian institutions and donors from the private sector.

These meetings resulted in the formulation of a strategic framework with major Italian institutions and private sector parties to ensure the continuity of cooperation and progress in the areas of common priority.

His Excellency Badr Jaafar said: This visit is embodied by the growing momentum between our two countries and affirms the continuous commitment of the UAE to make practical paths of long partnerships that achieve mutual benefit and this prosperity emerges in relations of compatibility between the economy of innovation and the global vision of the Italian Republic and the vital role of the UAE as a platform for regional and international cooperation.

In light of the continuous progress made by the UAE in its efforts to consolidate effective and influential international cooperation, his happiness visit stressed the increasing role of business diplomacy in achieving common values ​​and sustainable growth.

It is worth noting that with the expansion of commercial partnerships of the UAE, the volume of non -oil trade exceeded 460 billion US dollars during the first half of the year 2025, that is, more than twice the number recorded only five years ago, and the non -oil sectors are now more than 75% of the national gross domestic product.
